Generic, Specific and Hybrid Mechanisms and Algorithms
Modelling Environments, Libraries
Modeling methods provide the theoretical basis for being able to model at all. They deal with the design of modeling languages, modeling procedures and mechanisms & algorithms that can be used to process created models. Modeling environments on the other hand are implementations of these methods in terms of software tools that can be used to model systems under study.
The second major technical foundation for being able to create models in a distributed and cooperative way are IT-based modeling environments.
