This Internet platform is intended to provide the means for the cooperative and distributed development in terms of forums and wikis, to contain repositories for the storage of models and also to be a knowledge base for available modeling methods and IT‐based modeling environments. • The Open Model Community Platform provides a central point of contact where people from various domains and from both the academic and the industrial sector can interact in order to exchange and combine their expertise in terms of models.
• This way a large repository of high quality models can be established that forms a valuable knowledge base that is accessible free of charge.
• In addition, through the provision of modeling foundations in terms of modeling methods
and IT‐based modeling environments the Open Model Initiative becomes an important
“enabler” that supports people to choose the right basics for the creation of their models. At this stage of development each community can be enriched by using wikis or forums. |
